Inventory management software for factories, by lot and rack

eManage inventory management software keeps stock the way a factory actually holds it: by item, lot, heat number, shade or count, rack and store, including material in work in progress and at job workers. Receipts are weighed or scanned in, issues are made against job cards, and every movement updates the same record that planning, quality and accounts read, so stock is known without waiting for a physical count.

THE PROBLEM

What goes wrong before eManage

The same gaps show up in plant after plant, long before anyone calls them a system problem.

Stock known by one person

The storekeeper knows where things are; nobody else does, and work stops when they are away.

Books and floor disagree

Every audit finds differences between Tally stock and what is on the racks.

Lots mixed on the rack

Different yarn lots, heats or shades get issued together and show up as quality complaints.

Money stuck in slow stock

Material bought for old orders sits for months without anyone noticing.

WHAT IT COVERS

Everything eManage inventory management covers

Receipt

Stock that is right from the moment it arrives

Material is received against the purchase order or challan, weighed or counted, tagged and put on a rack in one flow.

  • Gate to store linkMaterial logged at the gate appears in the store as expected receipt.
  • Weigh-scale receiptWeights for bags, rolls and coils are read from the scale, not typed.
  • Lot, heat and shade on entryEach receipt carries its identity from the supplier certificate or tag.
  • Barcode and QR tagsLabels are printed at receipt and scanned for every later movement.
  • Rack and bin assignmentEvery lot gets a location, so it can be found and picked quickly.

Movement

Every issue, transfer and return on the record

Stock moves against the document that caused it, so the trail from receipt to dispatch is never broken.

  • Issue against job cardsMaterial leaves the store only against a job card or requisition.
  • Inter-store and plant transfersTransfers between stores and plants with in-transit stock.
  • Job-work stockMaterial at each processor is shown as your stock at their premises.
  • WIP by stageMaterial on the floor is visible by order and stage, not lost between registers.
  • Returns and rejectionsReturns to stores and rejected material are recorded with reasons.

Control

Reports that keep stock lean and honest

Because stock is maintained by the movements themselves, the reports are current every time you open them.

  • Stock by lot and locationWhat is where, by item, lot, rack and store, right now.
  • Ageing and slow moversStock that has not moved in 30, 60 or 90 days, with value.
  • Reorder alertsConsumables and fast movers flagged before they run out.
  • Cycle countsCount a few racks a day instead of shutting the store for an annual audit.
  • ValuationStock value by lot for accounts and costing.

ON THE FLOOR

How it works in eManage, step by step

Stock is a result of movements, not a separate count.

  1. Gate entry. The vehicle and challan are logged; the store sees what is coming.
  2. Receipt. Material is weighed or counted against the PO, with lot or heat recorded.
  3. Tag and rack. A label is printed and the lot is placed in a rack and bin.
  4. Issue. Material is issued against a job card or job-work challan by scanning the tag.
  5. Production and QC. Output becomes WIP or finished stock; failed lots are held.
  6. Dispatch. Finished stock is picked by lot and leaves with the invoice.

FAQ

Questions about eManage inventory management

Something specific to your plant? Ask an implementation lead.

What is inventory management software for manufacturers?

Software that records raw material, work in progress and finished goods by item, lot and location, updated by every receipt, issue, transfer and dispatch, so stock is known at any time.

Can eManage track stock by lot, heat number or shade?

Yes. Lot, heat, shade, count and similar attributes are carried on stock from receipt to dispatch, depending on the edition.

Does it work with weigh scales and barcodes?

Yes. Scales can be connected at receipt and packing, and barcode or QR tags are printed and scanned for movements, including on the eWarehouse Android app.

How is stock at job workers shown?

Can we stop doing a full annual stock count?

Many plants move to cycle counts of a few racks a day once stock is maintained by movements. Your auditor decides what is acceptable.
