Production planning software that starts from the order

eManage production planning turns open sale orders into a plan. MRP explodes each order through its bill of materials, nets the requirement against stock, work in progress and open purchase or job-work orders, and suggests what to buy, make or send out and by when. Planners then load machines, lines and outside processors against delivery dates, and see shortages before the floor runs out.

THE PROBLEM

What goes wrong before eManage

The same gaps show up in plant after plant, long before anyone calls them a system problem.

Shortages found on the floor

Material runs out mid-order because nobody netted the requirement against stock and open orders.

Buying too much, too early

Purchase orders are raised on rough estimates, and slow-moving stock builds up.

Delivery dates by guesswork

Orders are promised without seeing what the machines and processors already have to do.

Job work planned on the phone

Outside processors are booked when material is ready, not when the plan says it should be.

WHAT IT COVERS

Everything eManage production planning & MRP covers

Material

MRP that nets every requirement

Requirements are calculated from the bill of materials, including process losses, and netted against everything you already have or have ordered.

  • BOM explosion with process lossYarn, fabric, trims, bar stock or castings worked back from the finished quantity.
  • Netting against stock and WIPAvailable stock by lot and stage is reserved for orders before anything new is bought.
  • Open purchase and job-work ordersMaterial already ordered or at processors counts towards the requirement.
  • Purchase suggestions with datesLead times offset each suggestion so it arrives when the stage needs it.
  • Shortage list per orderPlanners see exactly which item will stop which order, and when.

Capacity

Machines, lines and processors loaded against dates

A plan that ignores capacity is a wish list. eManage shows what each work centre is already committed to.

  • Work-centre loadingMachines, knitting frames, looms, lines or presses with hours or quantities committed per day.
  • Routing-based schedulingEach order is scheduled through its stages in sequence, backwards from the delivery date.
  • Job-work processor loadSee what is pending at each dyeing house, plater or machine shop before sending more.
  • Rescheduling on changeWhen an order is pulled forward, the knock-on effect on other orders is visible.
  • Delivery promise checkSales can see a realistic date before committing to a customer.

Execution

From plan to job card without retyping

Approved suggestions become purchase orders, job cards and job-work challans in one step, linked to the order they serve.

  • One-click releaseApproved suggestions create POs, job cards and challans with the order reference.
  • Plan vs actualOutput entered on the floor is compared with the plan every day.
  • Overdue stage alertsStages that slip are flagged while there is still time to act.
  • Order status for salesEvery order shows planned, in progress, at processor, in QC and dispatched quantities.
  • OEM schedule nettingMonthly schedules from OEMs are netted against stock and WIP line by line.

ON THE FLOOR

How it works in eManage, step by step

Planning runs whenever demand changes, not once a month.

  1. Orders arrive. Sale orders, OEM schedules or forecasts are entered with dates.
  2. MRP runs. Requirements are exploded through the BOM and netted against stock, WIP and open orders.
  3. Planner reviews. Suggestions are combined, split or moved; capacity is checked per work centre.
  4. Orders are released. Purchase orders, job cards and job-work challans are created from the plan.
  5. The floor reports. Output and rejection are entered by stage against the job card.
  6. The plan adjusts. Shortfalls and delays flow back into the next planning run.

FAQ

Questions about eManage production planning & MRP

Something specific to your plant? Ask an implementation lead.

What is production planning software?

Software that turns orders into a production and material plan: what to make, what to buy, what to send to job workers, and when, given stock, work in progress and capacity.

Is MRP included in eManage?

Yes. MRP is part of the planning module in every eManage edition, using the same orders, BOMs and stock records as the rest of the ERP.

Can it plan job work as well as purchase?

Yes. Outsourced stages such as dyeing, plating or machining are planned as job-work orders, with the load at each processor visible.

Does it handle OEM delivery schedules?

Yes. Monthly or weekly schedules are entered or imported and netted against stock and WIP, line by line, as in the Auto Component and Tractor Parts editions.

How often should MRP be run?

Whenever demand changes. Most plants run it daily or after each new batch of orders.
